Technical Illustration Course Overview

The following technical illustration courses are available:

  • Arbortext IsoDraw Foundation - 2D Drawing
  • Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess - Working with 3D CAD data
  • Arbortext IsoDraw Foundation with CADprocess - 2D Drawing and working with 3D CAD data

Arbortext IsoDraw Foundation - 2D Drawing

During this two-day course, you will learn basic and advanced drawing operations of Arbortext IsoDraw. This course emphasizes hands-on experience, interaction between student and instructor, and a solid foundation in the essential drawing skills and commands needed to produce quality technical illustrations for publications. You will learn how to open, save, and close new and existing documents. You will also learn how to project geometry from one plane to another, and learn how to use the perspective and isometric tools. You will also learn how to draw and view objects, understand 2-D projections, movement and rotation.

At the end of each module, you will complete a skills assessment. The questions are used to help reinforce your understanding of the module topics and form the basis for review of any topics, as necessary.

Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess - Working with 3D CAD data

During this two-day course, you will learn how to automate the creation of technical illustrations from existing 3-D CAD data. You will learn how to view entities, understand 3-D projections, move and rotate components and utilize best practices when working with Objects.

At the end of each module, you will complete a skills assessment. The questions are used to help reinforce your understanding of the module topics and form the basis for review of any topics, as necessary.
